Hello, I’m Charlyne Blatcher Martin, M.A. and I wear many hats.

I believe in lifelong learning and the empowerment of the human spirit. We all have gifts and talents that are worth the journey of discovery.

Starting this blog is my way to connect with you on topics of health, spirituality/motivation, and many other areas.

Talk Show Host
I am the creator and host of the Comcast television talk show, Something To Talk About. The show has been on the air for over 10 years. My guests are experts in their fields which include the arts, science, politics, education, religion, and health.

Publications/Creative Work
Published freelance writer for local, regional, and national publications online and print media. I have written a health column and a Family Profile column for a Gannett publication Foundation magazine. My articles include business profiles, personal profiles, education, aviation, personal finance, etc.

Playwright with productions for a full length play, “Crossing Bridges”, and several Black and women historical fiction works that are available for production. Previously worked as dramaturge for a professional theatre.

I have been presented with various awards and recognitions including the Race Unity Award for my commitment and dedication in an effort to create harmony in the community among all groups of people from many walks of life.

Rockford College presented me with an Award of Distinction.

The World of Poetry awarded me Silver and Golden Poet recognition and invited me to attend the ceremony for the presentations.

I hold a Masters Degree in Communication Studies as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in English/Literature. I have certificates in facilitation and have worked with conflict resolution in various areas. My private pilot’s ground school certificate was earned while working as the warranty administrator for an aviation company for 10 years.
